A concrete grade tells you its strength — the “C” number is the characteristic compressive strength in newtons per square millimetre (N/mm²) at 28 days. The higher the number, the stronger the concrete. Getting the right grade matters: too weak and it won’t last; over-specified and you’re paying for strength you don’t need.

It depends on the job and the loading. As a guide: C20 for domestic foundations and floors, C25 for driveways and reinforced foundations, C30 for heavy-duty driveways and commercial floors, C35+ for structural and industrial work. Tell us what you’re building and we’ll specify the right grade.
