Ready Mix Screed in Manchester & Cheshire

Floor screed mixed fresh on-site for a smooth, level floor — traditional sand-and-cement or flowing liquid screed, batched to your spec, only paying for what you use.

Screed is the levelling layer that goes over your floor slab to give a smooth, flat surface ready for tiles, vinyl, carpet or other finishes — and it’s what underfloor heating pipes are set into. Barrow Mix supplies ready mix screed across Greater Manchester, Cheshire and the North West, batched fresh on-site by our volumetric wagons.

Because it’s mixed on the spot to the right consistency and quantity, you get a workable screed straight to the floor, no site mixing, and you only pay for what you use.

Why ready mix screed from Barrow Mix

Traditional & flowing

Standard sand-and-cement screed for most floors, or flowing (liquid) screed where you want a fast, self-levelling finish — we batch the type your floor needs.

Mixed fresh on-site

Volumetric mixing means consistent, workable screed delivered to the floor — no bags to mix and no screed going off before it’s down.

Ideal for underfloor heating

Screed encases UFH pipes and spreads the heat evenly. We supply the right mix and quantity to cover your pipe layout to the correct depth.

Only pay for what you use

We meter the exact volume your floor area needs — no part-loads, no waste.

Ready Mix Screed — FAQs

What’s the difference between screed and concrete?

Screed is a finer sand-and-cement (or liquid) topping laid over the structural slab to give a smooth, level floor surface for your finishes. Concrete contains coarse aggregate and forms the slab beneath. We supply both, fresh on site.

Can you supply screed for underfloor heating?

Yes – screed encases the UFH pipes and spreads the heat evenly across the floor. We batch the right mix and the right depth for your pipe layout.

Traditional or flowing screed – which do I need?

Traditional sand-and-cement suits most floors and is cost-effective; flowing (liquid) screed self-levels and is excellent for large areas and underfloor heating. Tell us the floor and we’ll advise.
