Fresh, on-site mixed concrete delivered across Wilmslow and the surrounding area — barrowed or pumped exactly where you need it.
Barrow Mix has been supplying concrete across the North West since 1984. We deliver ready-mix and volumetric concrete throughout Wilmslow and nearby areas including Handforth, Alderley Edge, Styal and Mobberley — mixing every load fresh on site so there’s no part-load waste, and getting it into place by barrow, line pump or boom pump whatever the access.
Fresh, consistent mixes for foundations, bases, floors and more.
Mixed to order on site — you only pay for exactly what you use.
Our speciality: we barrow concrete into spots a wagon can’t reach.
Concrete pumped through hose to gardens, basements and tight access.
Reach over buildings and across sites with our boom pump.
Smooth, level floor screeds for domestic and commercial builds.
We pumped a concrete base in Wilmslow — using our pump to reach a spot the wagon couldn’t get to and place the mix exactly where it was needed.
volumetric mixed fresh on site to the right grade and pumped straight into position.
Wilmslow’s larger gardens frequently put the job well beyond a wagon’s reach — past the house, down a path and round the back. We run the pump line the whole way through to place the base exactly where it’s needed, with no barrowing.

Wilmslow gives its name to the Wilmslow Sandstone Formation — this is the type area for that soft, weakly-cemented red sandstone of the Sherwood Sandstone Group. Glacial sand, gravel and till overlie it, with alluvium along the Bollin. Because the sandstone is friable, it can be soft and can “run” or ravel below the water table in an open excavation.

The River Bollin runs through Wilmslow (Rivers Street, Cliff Road, the Bollin Link), and it’s a named EA flood-warning area. The low ground along the Bollin is where the flood risk sits.
If your plot is on the low-lying ground, a Flood Risk Assessment may set a raised floor level and flood-resilient construction — a solid, low-permeability slab over continuous tanking. We pour the specified concrete to suit; the FRA and floor levels come from your designer and building control, not from us.
See flood risk & concrete for what’s required. Check the specific address on the EA flood map for planning — only the low-lying/valley-floor part of the area is affected, not the whole town. General guidance only.
We run our own quarry, wagons and pumps — a genuinely self-sufficient supplier, so we’re not waiting on anyone else to get your concrete to site. See why that matters →
