We lay concrete bases of every size across Mobberley and the wider Cheshire area, mixed fresh on site with our volumetric wagons — from six holiday-lodge bases against the clock to a single garden greenhouse base. Two recent Mobberley jobs:
This was a more unusual job than most. A new-build home in the Mobberley area of Cheshire was having a bulk LPG gas tank installed in the back garden, and the tank needed to be buried and then backfilled over with soil. A buried tank wants to float upwards when the ground around it is filled back in — so it can’t simply rest on a slab, it has to be anchored down to something solid.
We laid a concrete base in the bottom of the excavation with anchor plates set into the concrete, giving the installers fixed points to strap the tank down to. Once the base had cured and the tank was strapped in, the garden could be backfilled with soil without the tank lifting or shifting.
It’s exactly the kind of one-off, awkward-access pour our volumetric mixer handles well — concrete mixed fresh on site and placed straight into the pit, at the right strength, with only as much used as the job actually needed. Thanks for the business.

A holiday lodge park in Mobberley, Cheshire needed the bases in for six new lodges — and with the lodges booked to be delivered and fitted that Sunday, the concrete couldn’t wait. Barrow Mix laid all six bases in under five hours, the same day.
We ran four wagons to keep it flowing, loading up and out to site one after another for a customer we’ve looked after for over 20 years, on jobs all over the North West. Mixed fresh on site, poured and levelled off — even the management were out with floats to get it finished to the deadline.
And as on every job, we washed and cleaned the roads down on our way out.

When Mike in Mobberley needed a solid, level base for his new greenhouse, he was all set to buy the materials and mix the concrete by hand himself. After a quick chat he realised that having it supplied ready-mixed by Barrow Mix actually worked out as the cheaper option — and a great deal less back-breaking.
We delivered the concrete straight to his garden and helped him lay and finish the base, leaving a smooth, even slab ready for the greenhouse to sit on top. It’s a small domestic job, but it gets exactly the same fresh, mixed-on-site service as our largest commercial pours — no job is too big or too small for Barrow Mix.
Cheers Mike for the business.
