Concrete Floors — FAQs
What grade of concrete is used for floors?
Typically C20-C25 for domestic floors and garage slabs, and C30-C35+ for heavy-duty and industrial floors. We’ll advise the right grade for the loading and use, batched to BS 8500.
Can you pump concrete to an upper floor?
Yes – we pump concrete to upper floors and over buildings via boom, line or small pump, and barrow it into place where access is tight.
Should I use fibre concrete or mesh for a floor slab?
Fibres help control shrinkage cracking and in some slabs can reduce the need for mesh, but it depends on the design – your engineer will confirm. We can supply fibre reinforced concrete to spec.
