Fresh, on-site mixed concrete delivered across Bolton and the surrounding area — barrowed or pumped exactly where you need it.
Barrow Mix has been supplying concrete across the North West since 1984. We deliver ready-mix and volumetric concrete throughout Bolton and nearby areas including Westhoughton, Horwich, Farnworth and Kearsley — mixing every load fresh on site so there’s no part-load waste, and getting it into place by barrow, line pump or boom pump whatever the access.
Fresh, consistent mixes for foundations, bases, floors and more.
Mixed to order on site — you only pay for exactly what you use.
Our speciality: we barrow concrete into spots a wagon can’t reach.
Concrete pumped through hose to gardens, basements and tight access.
Reach over buildings and across sites with our boom pump.
Smooth, level floor screeds for domestic and commercial builds.
We supplied 120 cubic metres of C35 structural concrete for the foundations of a new apartment development in Bolton — a big, continuous pour where keeping the concrete flowing was everything.
Our volumetric fleet kept a steady supply going so the groundworkers never stood waiting on a wagon, and every cubic metre was mixed fresh to the specified C35 grade on site. A large commercial pour, delivered to programme.
Bolton sees a steady run of new-build and apartment schemes, and a big footings pour like this — 120m³ of C35 in a day — needs volume with no hold-up. Mixing on site with our volumetric wagons and pumping straight into the trenches keeps a pour that size moving from the first load to the last.

On another Bolton job we pumped the concrete floors for a new house — using our pump to place the mix quickly and evenly across each floor, reaching areas a wagon chute never could.
volumetric mixed fresh on site to the specified grade and pumped straight in, so the floors went down fast and dead level.
On Bolton’s terraced and mid-plot houses there’s often no clean route to barrow concrete through the property for the floors. Pumping solves it — we feed the mix room to room from the wagon out front, so the floors go down level and quick with none of the graft.

Bolton’s bedrock is Pennine Coal Measures across the town centre and south, passing up onto Millstone Grit toward the moorland fringe to the north, with glacial till and Croal-valley alluvium on top. It has a long colliery history and much of the borough falls within the Development High Risk Area.

One recent Bolton job was booked early on a Sunday, out of hours — on purpose, so two volumetric wagons and the pump could get in and place a large base without holding up the traffic. Early doors on a Sunday, the roads are quiet and the job runs clean.
We run our own quarry, wagons and pumps — a genuinely self-sufficient supplier, so we’re not waiting on anyone else to get your concrete to site. See why that matters →
