One of our regular customers, house builder Calore Homes, is building a new housing estate in Thelwall, Warrington — and Barrow Mix supplied and pumped the concrete for the foundations. Over 150m³ of concrete went in across the plots in a single day, all pumped straight into the trench-fill footings.
Pumping was the way to do it. With foundation trenches running right across the site, the pump feeds the concrete cleanly along the footings — far quicker than trying to get a wagon to every trench, and with no heavy traffic churning up the plots. We mixed every load fresh on site with our volumetric wagons and kept the pump fed so the whole day’s pour ran without a break.

Yes — on this Calore Homes estate in Thelwall we pumped over 150m³ into the trench-fill footings in a single day. A pump feeds the concrete along the foundation trenches cleanly, much quicker than getting a wagon to each one.
A pump reaches every trench across a site without driving wagons over the plots — it’s faster, cleaner and doesn’t rut the ground. Ideal for a big estate pour where the footings run right across the site.
It’s mixed fresh on site as it’s poured, so it’s always workable and you only pay for what you use — no part-load waste — and it keeps a big day’s pour moving without waiting on deliveries. More on volumetric concrete.
