San Carlo — the well-known Italian restaurant group — was fitting out a new opening in Alderley Edge, and Barrow Mix were called in to concrete the outside area.
The site sits right on the village’s cobbled forecourt with the restaurant on one side and the road on the other, so getting a wagon close enough to discharge down a chute wasn’t on. Instead we mixed the concrete fresh on site with our volumetric wagon and placed it exactly where it was needed with our line pump, feeding it past the access and into the outside area.
Mixing on site keeps the concrete fresh and means there’s no wasted part-load; pumping reaches the spots a truck chute never could. A smart pour at a smart address — and another quality Cheshire venue on the Barrow Mix list.

Yes — that’s exactly what a concrete pump is for. Our line and boom pumps feed concrete over, around and past obstacles a truck chute can’t reach, which is ideal for town-centre sites, back gardens, basements and restaurants like this one. See our concrete pumping service.
Because it’s mixed fresh on site as it’s poured, so it’s always workable and you only pay for exactly what you use — no rounded-up loads and no waste. It also lets us batch to the mix the job needs. More on volumetric concrete.
