Concrete Bases in Manchester & Cheshire

Fresh concrete for bases of every kind — shed, garage, hot tub, machine and commercial bases — mixed on-site to the right grade and barrowed or pumped exactly where you need it.

A base is only as good as the concrete under it. Barrow Mix supplies concrete for bases of all shapes and sizes across Greater Manchester, Cheshire and the North West — from a small shed base to a heavy commercial slab — all mixed fresh on-site to the right grade.

Because we mix volumetrically, there’s no minimum-load penalty and nothing wasted: order from as little as half a cubic metre with our mini mix service, and let our free barrowing (or pumping) get it exactly where the base is.

Why Barrow Mix for a concrete base

Any size, from ½m³

Small domestic bases or large commercial slabs — no minimum-load penalty, order exactly what the base needs.

Fresh & to grade

Mixed on-site to the right grade for a solid, level base that won’t sink, crack or dust.

Barrowed or pumped

Round the back, down the side or over a building — we barrow or pump it straight to the base.

As a rough guide a domestic base is around 100mm of C20–C25 concrete; load-bearing and commercial bases need more. Tell us the size and use and we’ll work out the volume and grade — see our concrete grades, floors and foundations services.

Concrete Bases — FAQs

How much concrete do I need for a base?

It depends on the base size and thickness (a domestic base is usually around 100mm). Give us the length, width and depth and we’ll work out the exact volume – and because we mix on site, you only pay for what you use, from half a cubic metre.

What grade of concrete for a base?

C20 to C25 is typical for a domestic base like a shed, garage or hot tub. Heavier or load-bearing bases (machine bases, commercial slabs) may need C30 or higher – we’ll confirm the right grade for the job.

Can you get concrete to a back garden or awkward spot?

Yes – our free barrowing service wheels concrete from the wagon to the base, including tight access, and for bigger or harder-to-reach jobs we can line or boom pump it into place.

Do you supply concrete for commercial bases?

Yes – from bin-store and bollard bases to machine bases and large ground-floor slabs, mixed on site to the specified grade across Greater Manchester, Cheshire and the North West.

Do you deliver small loads for a base?

Yes – volumetric mini mix from half a cubic metre with no minimum-load penalty, ideal for shed, greenhouse and hot tub bases.
