This commercial yard in Salford was having a new weighbridge installed, and it needed a solid concrete base to sit on. The old deck had been dug out and the pit prepared, so we supplied 25m³ of concrete to form the new base — strong enough to take the constant load of fully-laden lorries driving on and off it day in, day out.
A weighbridge base is a precision job: the concrete has to be poured to the right level and tamped off flat so the weighbridge sits true and weighs accurately. We mixed it fresh on site with our volumetric wagons, discharged straight into the prepared base, and the team tamped and levelled it off to finish.
And we did it on a Saturday morning — we always work out-of-hours to suit the customer, so a busy commercial site doesn’t lose a working day. A nice job to round the week off.
